What nobody tells AYA cancer survivors

Most young adult cancer survivors Edward Miskie meets are only 5 or 7 years out from treatment. Edward is almost 15 years cancer-free—and he’s using that long-term survivorship perspective to talk about what the AYA cancer community is missing.

From dating and sex to relationships, identity, and life after you’re told you survived, these are the conversations that are barely covered in the young adult cancer space. Edward wants to change that for survivors in their late teens, 20s, and 30s.

AYA cancer (Adolescent and Young Adult) affects patients ages 15–39, and their survivorship is just beginning to get the attention it deserves.
